Every mind grows at its own pace.
A psychotherapy and counselling practice led by psychologist Ritu Mishra — for children, adolescents, adults and families working through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, OCD, attention difficulties, burnout and the everyday weight of life.
Why “Swayam”?
स्वयम् — Sanskrit for the self, one’s own being
To move forward, you first have to look within. Healing isn’t about fixing something that’s broken; it’s about returning to your core. Swayam was built as a sanctuary for exactly that — deep reflection, honest inner exploration, and the quiet work that changes everything.
The founder
Ritu Mishra
Ahmedabad-based psychodynamic psychotherapist, working with adults, adolescents, children and families.
Six years, 1500+ individuals and families, and one steady belief: every person already carries the resilience they need — therapy helps them find it.
Her work
Ritu offers compassionate, result-oriented, solution-focused care. Child psychology is where she has built her deepest expertise, drawing on a honed understanding of developmental psychology to work with children and adolescents on emotional and behavioural challenges.
She is equally trained and experienced across adult mental health, including trauma-related cases — creating a safe, nurturing space for children, adolescents and adults alike to explore their emotions, work through challenges, and thrive.
Approach
Rooted in empathy, creativity and evidence-based practice — drawing on play therapy, cognitive-behavioural techniques and family systems theory. She believes in the innate resilience of young minds, and in giving every client the skills and confidence to lead a fulfilling life well beyond the therapy room.
Education
MSc, Mental Health: Psychological Therapies — Bachelor of Arts, psychology, St. Xaviers College - Queen Mary, University of London (2019–2020). PGD, Child and Parent Counseling — Kanoria Centre for Medical Education (2021–2022).
Modalities used in practice
How we work
Rooted in evidence, shaped by you
Three principles hold across every kind of session — whoever it’s for, and whatever brought them here.
Client-centred
You set the pace
Every plan is built around the person in the room, not a template — sessions adapt as needs change.
Evidence-based
Grounded in clinical training
CBT, psychodynamic, DBT and trauma-informed approaches, chosen deliberately for what each person needs.
Judgement-free
A safe, private space
Whether the session is for a child, a couple or an individual — the room stays warm, boundaried and confidential.
